A new parking lot opened in Széchenyi street
Dósa nádor square and Csapó street in down-town Debrecen are to be remodelled in the summer of 2019. The parking spaces in that area are to be substituted by offering automobile drivers another lot to park their cars in Széchenyi street – announced Mr. Lajos Barcsa, deputy mayor of Debrecen, and Ms. Aurelia Ibolya Orosz, council-woman for the electoral ward.
As part of the Green City Programme of the New Phoenix Plan, Dósa nádor square and the down-town section of Csapó street are to be remodelled . The relevant area is going to be made a pedestrian mall, which will furnish space for a new statue of King Saint Stephen of Hungary and provide a suitable and worthy area for the flower market. Altogether 179 parking places are bound to disappear. In order not to upset regular traffic owing to the development project a new parking lot has been created with 300 parking places for automobile drivers – announced deputy mayor, Mr. Lajos Barcsa. Automobile drivers can take advantage of the new parking lot from May 2, 2019, onwards for the same charge as is standard for that prime-rate zone.
