Depletion of mosquitos in Debrecen
The municipal government of Debrecen intends to idle away no more time waiting for the central government’s mosquito depletion and will go about depleting mosquitos throughout the five-thousand-hectare area at her own expense – announced Ms. Diána Széles, deputy mayor of Debrecen.
It was at the time of the major floods of river Danube in 2013 that the government of Hungary started taking central action through the High Commission for Catastrophy Salvage Organization. Debrecen, however, takes action every year. In the current year of 2019, 25 million HUF has been set aside for this job in the municipal budget.
We keep continual contact with the state organizations, but as we received information last week that it was not the Borough of Debrecen coming up next on their priority list of places to be mosquito depleted, we took matters into our own hands and struck a deal with a local entrepreneur to do the job for us – said deputy major Ms. Diána Széles.
