Honours conferred on the occasion of the anniversary of the revolution
To honour the 62nd anniversary of the beginning of the 1956 revolution on October 23 as well as the 29th anniversary of the Declaraton of the Hungarian Republic, the local government of Debrecen City of County Rights had a commemorative General Assembly Meeting in the Kölcsey Centre on October 23, 2018.
This year the Csokonai Prize of acknowledgement of the City of Debrecen was awarded to Ms. Anikó Asbóth, puppet theatre artist, director and artistic leader of Vojtina Puppet Theatre; to József Balogh, music teacher, choir conductor and music critic; and to Mr. András Máthé, photographic artist. The Hatvani Prize of acknowledgement was awarded to secondary grammar school teacher Ms. Gabriella Kiss, deputy head-mistress of the Kossuth Lajos teacher training grammar school of Debrecen University and to Mr. László Végh retired research fellow in-chief at the Theoretical Physics Laboratry of the Nuclear Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Sciences in Debrecen. The Hajós Alfréd Prize of acknowledgement was awarded to Mrs. János Arady, Magdolna Lázár, olympic athlete, middle-distance runner and to Mr. Vilmos Köstner, head of DVSC’s replacement section. The Boncz László Prize of Debrecen was awarded to Barnabás Balogh, pastor of the Reformed Church Charity Service and Mrs. Lajos Nagy, deputy head of the social welfare service of Debrecen City of County Rights.
