Debrecen joined in the series of events of the European Mobility Week and the International Automobile-free Day which are taking place in 2500 towns in Europe between September 10 and 22.
The modernization of the Senior Citzens’ Home of the Municipal Social Welfare Service has been carried on this year too: living-rooms, the central refectory and the an-suite bathrooms are being upgraded.
The institution has undergone complex rebuilding with the support of the European Union and the Municipal Government of Debrecen.
Upon the initiative of the Fidesz-KDNP faction-group of the citiy’s General Assembly further finantial sources have been assigned by the council to renovating side-walks in the city of Debrecen.
With the participation of the representatives of sister-parishes of Izraelites from beyond the borders talks were held by the Debrecen Israelite Parish for the 20th time between Sept 05 and 07, 2019. The subject matter of the conference was the cultural and religious heritage of Jewish communities from the viewpoint of tourism.
Children have now been able to move back into the Boldogfalva Kindergarten. Although upgrading work is still being done at the institution it was already possible to start the educational year in the group rooms.
Deputy mayor, Mr. Szabolcs Komolay said at the opening ceremony on September 02 that it is for the first time considering the past 10 years that more students decided to take part in secondary vocational training than in secondary grammar schools.
The school equipment donation programme of the Debrecen Charity Corps is still going on.
