Parody, the theme present throughout our lives, will be in the focus of Debrecen Literary Days
Karinthy, imitation and mimicry. Why is parody popular and why is it unsettling? This is the question in the spotlight of this year’s Debrecen Literary Days between 4 and 6 November 2019.
Debrecen Literary Days is an event which plays an important role in the cultural life of the city. This year, the program is organized between 4 and 6 November, which was announced at a press conference in Méliusz Juhász Péter Library on 31 October 2019. The organizers of the event with long traditions made effort to highlight its festival-like atmosphere, thus living literature is to be present in the theatre, in the medium of science and scientific dissemination, as well as in the form of personal meetings with the authors. The main theme is literary parody, that is, imitation, mimicry and repetition as a source of humour at home and at other nations.
