Ten thousand people were present at the ceremonial events of the Day of Hungarian Calvinist Reformed Unity
Ten thousand people came to Debrecen to be present at the Day of Hungarian Reformed (Calvinist) Unity on May 18, 2019, and celebrated the reestablishment of the unified Hungarian Reformed (Calvinist) Church across the borders of Hungary.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Mihály Varga confirmed in the presence of several thousand people convened outside the Nagytemplom (Big Church): The Government of Hungary is committed to staying the course set in 2010 and inteds to serve the interests of all the Hungaran nation. ’’We are thinking in terms of a nation and its culture”. Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, pointed out in his complimentary address that the ’’Hungarian Reformed Church is one of the cohesive spiritual bonds of the nation. Ms. Najla Kassab, the president of the Universal Reformed Communitiy, emphasized that a bridge had been constructed in Debrecen ten years earlier which links together the Hungarian Reformed (Calvinist) communities inside and outside Hungary.
