The complex developoment programme in the Újkert (New Garden) quarter of town goes on by up-grading the kindrgarten in Lehel street
The upgrading of the energetic system of the kindergarten in Lehel street has entered a further stage of progress in the complex development programme of the Újkert quarter of town.
The objective of the renovation is to secure that the nearly 200 kindergarten children can have their daily activities in up-to-date conditions – said Mr. György Korbeák, councilman for the electoral ward in that quarter in his public announcement in the kindergarten on August 01, 2019. Újkert (New Garden) is one of the most populous quarters in Debrecen. The housing estate was built in the 1970s, the complete redevelopment of which – concening parks, schools, kindergartens and public spaces – has been launched in the framework of the New Phoenix Plan. The development programme of Újkert quarter began with the Újkert Coomunity Centre building complex at No. 17, Jerikó street. The programme continues partly with the renovation of the Beregszászi Pál Secondary School and the Újkert Public Library and partly with the renovation of the kindergarten section of the community complex incurring a cost of more than 1,5 billion HUF. The latter has practically been accomplished and the children who go there will find themselves in a refurbished environment to spend their daily lives in.
