The Day of Reformed Calvinist Unity
A full day-long event celebrated the 10th anniversary of the unified Reformed Calvinist Church Unity in Debrecen on May 18, 2019.
At the press-conference devoted to releasing the detailed programme of the events on the Day of Reformed Unity Right Reverend Bishop Károly Fekete of the Trans-Tisza Reformed Church District called to mind the fact that the Peace Treaty of Trianon (Versailles) coused grave losses to the Reformed Church, too, while in faith and doctrine the separated parts did not depart from each other. There has been a continuing desire on the part of the churches in the Carpathian Basin to restore their unity. It was at the Constitutional Legislative Synod that – in accordance with this general intent – the establishment of a Unified Hungarian Reformed Church was declared out of the constituent church districts in Hungary and the church units beyond the borders 10 years ago, on May 22, 2009.
