The Family and Child Welfare Centre inaugurated
The most important development project in the Provident City Programme of the New Phoenix Plan, the Family and Child-Welfare Centre has been accomplished.
At the inauguration of the building on December 12, 2018, Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen pointed out: the Centre will be the meeting point of different generations, for pensioners’organizations can have their residence in it besides those of families.
The two-storey building of the Centre with a total of 1346 sq. metres of floorspace will handle customer service on its groundfloor with counselling and other customer contacting offices togehter with a spatious galleried waiting area and with further offices upstairs. There will be a prevention playing room and four other activity rooms for children. The activity rooms can be opened together which opens up such a large space that it can become the venue to otrher large-scale family and other events or events organized for penioners. The total cost of the development project amounts nearly to 602 million HUF of which 500 million HUF covered form EU sources while the remaining 102 million HUF was contributed by the Municipal Government of Debrecen City of County Rights’ own budgetary sources.
The Ceremonial inauguration was also attended by Mr. Attila Fülöp, state secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources responsible for matters of social welfare and social responsibility.
