The graphic (sight) design for the renovation of Csokonai National Theatre completed
Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen presented the visual designs of the renovation of Csokonai National Theatre of Debrecen to the members of the theatre’s troupe. The modernization of the theatre both inside and outside will take place as part of the Modern Cities’ Development Programme.
The troupe of Csokonai National Theatre had its season-closing meeting on Friday. It was at this meeting that Mr. László Papp presented the visual sight designs made for the renovation of the theatre. The internal and external modernization of the theatre as part of the Modern Cities’ Development Programme is to be subsidized to the tune of 6.3 billion HUF by the Government of Hungary.
I feel – said Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen at the presentation – that the upgraded theatre building is going to be worthy of the high professional standard represented by the troupe of Csokonai National Theatre as well as of the Borough of Debrecen, a city which thus stands a good chance of becoming a regional centre in the sphere of culture, too.
The authorized designs of the building permits were finalized as of March 20, 2019. Having gone through the due procedures of obtaining the issuance of the necessary permits by May 10, 2019, the Debrecen Municipal Government acted in order to procure the final construction designs which are in the making, and are expected to become available in August of the current year. That will then be followed by the contractor’s public procurement procedure and that of the tecnical supervisor, too. The actual construction work is expected to begin in 2020 and to foreseeably be accomplished and taken over in 2021.
