The Green-city Programme is to start in the Sestakert quarter of town
A further quarter of Debrecen has seen the start of the Green City Programme. Parks, walkways, playgrounds are going to be upgraded; work-out training parks are to be built – announced Mr. Levente Fodor and Mr. László Szilágyi, councilmen for the relevant electoral wards of town on June 06, 2019.
The Green City Programme of the New Phoenix Plan is so far the largest-scale development programme concerning the green surfaces in Debrecen, which affects 11 quarters of town incurring a total cost of 6 billion HUF to be spent on parks and playgrounds. The execution of this Programme started in the Libakert quarter in December, 2018, then it went on in Dobozikert and Vénkert quarters. It is now the turn of Sestakert to have started work. The cost incurred in the materialization of the plans in Sestakert is 207 million HUF towards which the municipal government of Debrecen contributed 54 million HUF share of her own sources. The programme has been subsidized by EU funds of 181 million HUF.
