The new building of National Instruments has reached its highest point
A topping-out ceremony was held at the Debrecen manufacturing plant of NI Hungary, Ltd.Co. on April 10, 2019, when the construction of the latest, i.e. the fourth building of NI’s plant had reached its topmost point.
Mr. Eric Strarkloff, chairman of National Instruments Corporation, said at the ceremonial event that this investment project to the tune of 5.5 billion HUF would result in the creation of 210 new jobs in Debrecen, where there are already 1500 people employed. The chairman of the company headquartered in Texas said that it was good quality manpower, the presence of a good University and a good partner city-government that made them pick Debrecen where to locate the investment, which has since proved to have been the right decision. As a justification of its long-term plans, NI announced the development project in 2016 and it is now materializing according to schedule; the office block is expected to be completed by the end of the current year. Besides the construction work, the efficient recruitment of employees was going on and all the advertized job openings have so far been filled. The new employees are functioning in engineering, in IT, research and development and other service fields, most of them with college degrees and a proficient knowledge of English and other foreign languages – said Mr. Eric Starkloff. Then he added: Debrecen is an important part of the global strategy of the company. The manufacturing plant in Debrecen is second in size only to that in Texas.
