The smart-city strategy of Debrecen examined
An independent organization examined Debrecen’s so-called smart-city strategy. Their findings were released at a workshop on Friday April 10, 2018.
A smart zebra-crossing will aid children’s crossing outside Epreskert Primary School. The essence of smart city is that as many similar solutions as possible could improve the quality of life in cities. The European Bank of Development (EBRD) had East-European regional centres examined from the point of view of how they utilized smart solutions.
In his complimentary address, Mr. Lajos Barcsa, deputy mayor of Debrecen, pointed out that Debrecen primarily focuses on traffic, energy efficiency and digital literacy.
