The sport of cinder-track motor-bike racing may come to life in Debrecen again
It is a prime objective of the Speedwolf Non-profit Ltd. Co. to develop the what has so far been the cider-track motor-bike racing stadium in Gázvezeték street into an up-graded sports center. In order to subsidize the renovation of the cinder-track motor-bike-racing stadium, the municipal government has assigned 40 million HUF of its current-year budget.
In the framework of a press meeting on the issue of reviving cinder-track motor-bike racing in Debrecen as well as on the renovation of the cinder-track stadium a detailed account was given by Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, Mr. Norbert Baráth, managing director of the Speedwolf Sport-organization Non-profit Ltd.Co., and Mr. Zoltán Adorján, perennial Hungarian champion of cinder-track-racing on location on July 09, 2019.
At the same time, the managers of the Speedwolf Sport-organization Non-profit Ltd. Co., Mr. N. Baráth and Mr. Norbert Boros, declared that given the subsidy of the municipal government, their company would, in the future, operate the cinder-track stadium, and would also endeavour to revive this particular branch of motor-bike-racing and would also make the facility and its surroundings renovated and make it a sports center serving the neighbourhood.
A resolution was passed on this proposal at the May Meeting of the General Assembly which authorized the conslusion of an agreement of public service with the Ltd. Company for the operation, maintenance of the facility free of charge. The council assigned a sum of 40 million HUF for the renovation of the cinder-track motor-bike racing course stadium in its 2019 budget. At the press meeting, Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, said, among other things, that it is the intention of the municipal government to commit itself to giving long-term subsidy to this branch of sport so popular among the citizens of Debrecen.
