The stabilization of unpaved (dirt) roads to continue in Debrecen
The stabilization of unpaved roads (dirt roads) is to be resumed in Debrecen. Traffic is going to be smoother in a total of 79 streets by the time this job is completed – announced Mr. Ákos Balázs, the leader of the faction-group of Fidesz-KDNP party in the City Council on May 17, 2019.
The Development Programme for the Garden Zone of Debrecen was launched by Councilman Mr. István Kovács of the faction-group of Fidesz-KDNP in 2012 with the aim of developing the residential sectors of the city lying further away from the city-centre and render the daily life of those residents easier. Not only was the objective a serious one, but also the financial resources allocated for this task: the city spent more than 12 billion HUF between 2012 and 2018 on the consolidation of dirt-roads, public lighting, as well as constructing precipitation drainage systes in the outlying quarters. This year will see the utilization of a record sum, that is, 4.8 billion HUF for materializing these objectives in the garden zone of town.
