There are to be several novelties at the Campus Festival of this year
More than 240 players are coming to appear at Nagyerdő next week. The Festival will keep charity in the foreground. They are going to raise support for the Senior Citizens’ Home in Pallagi Road.
The most important and most popular pop music festival in the eastern part of the country is soon to begin. Campus Festival is bent on breaking a record again this year, while there were 108 thousand people having fun at Nagyerdő last year. As Dehir.hu reported on it earlier, there will be novel external locations added to the premises of the event, for there is no room for further expansion of the original premises.
Mr. Lajos Kósa, MP for Debrecen, pointed out that the Hungarian government subsidizes major festivals. Campus Festival, which is the largest east of River Danube, has came to be up to meeting all standards.
Mr. Zoltán Bács, Chancellor of Debrecen University, put it in this way: it is just natural that Debrecen University makes her appearance at the festival, for – as its name suggests, the festival has a lot to do with higher education. Also adding that the University will be present occupying 1200 sq.metres and presenting 40 programmes on stage, 3D printing; surgical instruments, a presentation of laboratory equipment for bio-mechanic measurements, etc. The experts from the University are going to show all things of interest from 16.00 o’clock onwards each day at the festival. Several musical groups also appear in University square that are in some ways related to the University.
Mr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, announced that the city has declared war on disposable products, by launching on initiative in August that would involve local firms, institutions and private individuals in banishing products that have an environmental damage. The mayor of Debrecen trusts that the Festival joins this initiative. The city will acknowledge those that act in favour of environmental protection by awarding them a title of honour.
Mr. Péter Miklósvölgyi, director of the Campus Festival added that the Festival will again have a standard cup the visitors are required to purchase. Adding also that they (the Festival management) will be the very first to join the initiative of Debrecen Borough Government.
