Upgrading the sidewalks in the Tócóskert quarter of town
The upgrading of the sidewalks in the housing estates in Tócóskert has got started. The paved surfaces are being upgraded in three locations: in István avenue, Derék street and Kishegyesi avenue.
The announcement was made by Mr. Attila Csaholczi and Mr. András Varga councilmen for the respective electoral ward at their press-meeting on May 16, 2019. An important objective of the Liveable City Programme of the New Phoenix Plan is to have minor but locally effective modernizations accomplished to improve the quality of life in the respective neighbourhoods of the city, alongside major urban development projects and investments. The sidewalks and public stairs in the Tócóskert housing estate are of the same age as the blocks of flats. Over the decades that have passed since, sidewalk pavements and public stairs have got broken up or got sunk in and transversally cracked. Now the sidewalks in worse condition are being renovated. The upgrading of public stairs is taking place simultaneously.
