Yet another intersection is going to be supplied with pedestrian crossing
A further busy road section, the intersection at István road and Kristály street, will be secured by a newly built pedestrian crossing.
The Traffic Develpment Programme of the New Phoenix Plan gives priority to pedestrian security. The year 2018 saw, among others, the construction of pedestrian crossings at the intersections of Széchenyi–Küküllő streets; Baross-Ceglédi streets. The programme is continuing in 2019 by putting new zebra crossings into seven spots providing for easier and safer traffic. One such crossing was completed at the intersection of Vincellér and Derék streets at the end of May then the construction of one such new crossing was begun at the intersection of Viola and Ibolya streets, whereas new work in the István road – Kristály street intersection has just been started – announced Ms. Ibolya Aurelia Orosz and Mr. András Varga, members of the city council for the relevant electoral wards at their press-meeting on June 14, 2019.
